Sal leaf plates & bowls are made from the leaves of the Sal tree. Three layers of leaves for added strength so that you can pile up the plate with food. The plates & bowls are:

How are they made

Collection of naturally fallen leaves

Naturally fallen leaves are collected by tribal women. This preserves the forest, empowers these women by providing them with financial independence, and sustain their traditional profession.

Hand stitched with natural fibre or sticks

Three layers of leaves are then hand stitched using natural fiber.The leaf scrap waste generated during manufacturing is made into biodegradable paper by repulpation, which is cost-effective

Creation of plates by hydraulic pressed machines

These groups of stitched leaves are put in a hydraulic press, which forms the plates. Your chemical free, plastic free, planet friendly, animal friendly, biodegradable leaf plate is ready.
